What better way to get ready for the Holidays than by attending a tree lighting ceremony, town square event, or parade! There are plenty events going on in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex that you should know about.
The Macy’s Grand Tree Lighting Celebration at the Dallas Galleria takes place Saturday, November 29th at 6 pm. This year, the Olympic winning Meryl Davis and Charlie White will be gliding across our beloved ice rink. More tree lighting ceremonies and shows at the ice rink are scheduled for December 6th, 13th, and 20th. If you’re in the mood to look at Christmas lights, but tired of the view through the car window, why not try a horse drawn carriage ride? Depart from the beautifully decorated Highland Park Village and take a tour through the streets of HP in a cozy carriage. The Vitruvian Lights at Vitruvian Park in Addison is really a sight to see! Town of Addison Mayor Todd Meier has the honor of flipping the switch on the 200+ LED lights on Friday, November 28th. With live entertainment, food trucks, a holiday shopping village, holiday mascots, and pictures with Santa, this is sure to be a spectacular event for all ages. If you can’t make it that night, head over to 3875 Ponte Avenue, Addison, TX 75001 anytime before January 1st to see this fascinating display or on December 6th, 13th, or 20th for live music. This event is free.
Starting November 28th and lasting til January 3rd, Frisco’s downtown square will be illuminated in fantastic lights. Come on Saturday, December 2oth at 5:00 pm to celebrate their 10 year anniversary with fireworks, carriage rides, train rides, Santa, and a 3 lane inner-tubing snow slide! The Dallas Arboretum’s 12 Days of Christmas exhibit runs November 16th through January 4th. Twelve 25 foot illuminated Victorian gazebos bring to life the beloved carol, “The 12 Days of Christmas.” With live carolers and holiday treats, this event is perfect for the nostalgic. Each year we anxiously await the Gaylord Texan Resort’s announcement of the theme for their ice sculptures. This year it’s Frosty the Snowman! The famous 1969 CBS classic cartoon version! Delight in the the story we all know and love as told by 2 million pounds of ice (which including 2 ice slides). Located in Grapevine, it’s a unique experience loved by DFW residents.
